One of the area’s leading mental and behavioral health services providers is in immediate need of master’s level family based mental health therapists, preferably bilingual in Spanish, to work with children and families in Lancaster, Lebanon, Dauphin & York counties. This is a vital position that involves working directly with children and their families to help them achieve their goals and connecting them with services and resources in the community.

Family Based Mental Health Therapist Description:

  • Work with a case load of 6-8 families
  • Connect families with resources & services in the community that will help them meet their needs
  • Provide crisis management as needed to children & adolescents and their families
  • Assess relevant history, symptoms, problem areas and strengths of assigned client and family.
  • Conducts therapeutic interventions to help client and family reach treatment plan goals
  • List of services rendered include: interagency treatment planning, assessment, treatment monitoring, family and group therapies, child/sibling group, functional behavioral support planning, 1:1 guided parent training, group skill based training, 1:1 guided child training, family and individual therapeutic activities, parental and child mentoring, outreach, and case management and after care planning.

Requirements Family Based Mental Health Therapist

  • Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or closely related field
  • Two years of experience working with children/adolescents
  • Reliable transportation to travel to the homes and schools of clients. Reasonably clean driving record for the past three years.
  • Willing to work three evenings per week and be on call one weekend ever 2-3 months
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
